Setting and Running Shuttles

Introduction:

Some times this process can be a simple as following the road on the side of the river. Remember you need two vehicles to set a full shuttle if you can get your whole group and their gear on the one vehicle at the take out. Often time you will need a bit of local road knowledge, and in some cases you need wilderness permits for your hike in. Don’t underestimate this while you are gathering information about your intended run. Topo maps, goggle earth, and 1st hand information are the best ways to be set. Sometimes a good old fashion road map will not be enough information for a lot of the places kayaking takes us. Lastly use all of you acquired knowledge to get a good idea of how long it will take to run shuttle so you can build that into your time management plan.
