Mid summer has seen a good many kayak schools getting listed as Welcome Centers. These top kayak instructional sources will be the targets of a growing public relations campaign aimed at sending new boaters to the best sources for whitewater education. Alongside the PR campaign being ramped up, Welcome Centers will be hosting a series of demo events allowing non-paddlers an opportunity to get into a whitewater boat under the watchful eye of instructors. Welcome Center’s will also be getting more and more involved in the new kayakeducation.com portal launched this summer.

We are please to welcome top schools like Zoar, NOC, Class V1, Still River Outfitters and many more to our growing list of Welcome Centers. Be sure you’re involved if you’re a kayak school… please feel free to apply at http://letsgopaddling.com/welcome-centers/become-a-welcome-center-2/welcome-center-application/.

With phase 1 of this portal, we are inviting all kayak instructors with active certification with the ACA to join us for the start of our ongoing discussion and collaboration. The Summer and Fall of 2010 will see a growing number of kayak instructors and schools getting involved in this portal which is aimed at developing conversation in and around each step in the paddler curriculum. Educators are invited to contribute tips, tricks etc. to an exsisting outline of the natural ww progression. With a ‘thumbs up’ system we can then see how these tips are percieved once tested by others… bringing best practice in all steps in paddling progression clearer.

Free educator accounts are available now by applying at http://letsgopaddling.com/welcome-centers/become-a-welcome-center-2/welcome-center-application/ …
