How KE Works

Welcome to Kayakeducation.com (KE). World Kayak believes that having the latest teaching techniques at your fingertips is key to being more effective in instructing your whitewater students. At this very moment in time, someone somewhere is discovering that next technique. In Colorado USA there’s probably someone teaching the roll in an exciting new way or in England there is someone with an excellent game for teaching the peel out from an eddy.  These ideas should be at your finger tips!  World Kayak would like to provide a means for ALL instructors to hear of that new technique and help perfect it.

2010 sees the launch of a global initiative at World Kayak to bring the whitewater instructional world a resource that enables everyone to keep current with modern instructional techniques. This initiative starts with a conversation. From that conversation, we all learn. World Kayak invites all instructors to join us in building a resource that will bring best practice to all educators and organizations.

A Quick Tour
The Kayak Education portal is set up as a very customized social network, a combination of blogspot and Facebook.  Every registered educator and/or school will have its own identity on the network and a complete profile that they can manage with all the key information and a control system for all their KE activity.

Avatar Image James - October 7th, 2011

With phase 1 of this portal, we are inviting all kayak instructors with active certification with the ACA to join us for the start of our ongoing discussion and collaboration.  The Summer and Fall of 2010 will see a growing number of kayak instructors and schools getting involved in this portal which is aimed at developing conversation in and around each step in the paddler curriculum.  Educators are invited to contribute tips, tricks etc. to an exsisting outline of the natural ww progression.  With a ‘thumbs up’ system we can then see how these tips are percieved once tested by others… bringing best practice in all steps in paddling progression clearer.
